Seattle-Based Psychotherapist
KATE DUFEK, LMHC
hello again.
Looking for a grounded witness and champion of your growth can be an intimate and tiresome task. Grueling as the search may be, these efforts in pursuit of healing are well worth it. Welcome!
I am a trauma-informed relational psychotherapist for individuals and couples in Washington state. I work well with those who fear they’re “too sensitive”, creatives, chronic people pleasers, folks are hard on themselves and couples looking to build a stronger connection. Many of my clients seek out therapy as they navigate seasons of transition, feel a desire to grow deeper into themselves, to cultivate their relationship, disrupt patterns, or simply could use a space to explore who they are.
The couples who I work well with have a lot of care for one another, but often find themselves stuck in dissatisfying cycles, struggling to connect, and wondering how to improve their relationship. I work with couples from an attachment based, neurobiologically informed stance called PACT. This appoach takes into account styles of relating, somatic cues, and the ways that our minds and bodies are wired as human beings to move towards more secure functioning.
By lending honest, and gentle curiosity towards all that you hold— in pattern, silence, and in body, I find that we can come to rediscover softness, connection and breath in places formerly marked by disconnection and pain. My hope is that together, we will help you will find a more integrated, flexible, and free way of being.
